Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate has always been know for it award winning beaches and bays. Stretching from Pegwell Bay in the south to Reculver in the north, there are 15 main sandy beaches and bays. Out of the 15 bays, 10 of them our lifeguard by the RNLI during the main season. Ramsgate Main Sands This popular sandy family beach has plenty of children’s activities. The beach is situated right next to the glorious Royal Harbour and Marina. Lots of little bars and cafes close at hand for leisurely lunches and that real continental feel. There are also enjoyable coastal walks and cycle rides to Broadstairs and Pegwell Bay. Viking Bay (Broadstairs) Viking Bay is the main sandy bay in Broadstairs and it has a boardwalk, lift and cliff-top promenade. The picturesque harbour pier has traditional pubs, restaurants, shops and amusements nearby. Stone Bay A great little peaceful sandy bay with chalk cliffs and promenade. Seldom discovered by visitors it is an excellent place for rock pooling and discovering the local marine life. Disabled and pram access is via Broadstairs Harbour which is renowned for its historic links. It also has a wide choice of coastal walks and cycle routes. Joss Bay Joss Bay is the best surfing beach in Thanet – a must for keen surfers and those who wish to learn. This popular 200m-long bay is linked to the notorious smuggler Joss Snelling who was named after it. Surrounded by fields and a golf course, it offers a wide expanse of sand for carefree play. Botany Bay Thanet’s best-kept secret, Botany Bay is a secluded bay with breathtaking chalk features. A good beach for families with plenty for children to explore. The long stretch of boardwalk gives easy access to all visitors. St Mildred's Bay A sandy bay with promenade, cliffs and a tidal pool, which is very popular with both visitors and residents. Crabbing pools will keep the children amused for ages.
